Open Studio 2007

Dear Art Lovers

This year I will be doing my Open Studio event at home at my studio in Haight Ashbury.
Paintings, drawings, prints and water colors will be on display. Prices range from $20 - $4.000. There will be new work, work in progress and older pieces on display.

Art 4 Aids Benefit Auction

Berkeley Art Center's 24th National Annual Juried Exhibition

Recently one of my drawings were selected for Berkeley Art Center's 24th Annual Juried Exhibition. This years show consists exclusively of works on paper.

The jurors are Dr. Peter Selz (founder of the Berkeley Art Museum and author of the recently published Art of Engagement: Political Art in California and Beyond) and artist Nancy Buchanan (Professor at CalArts, Valencia, California).

The next couple of months I am taking part in a 4-Person show: Northern Light/Nordic Visions at International Arts & Artists' Hillyer Art Space in Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. We were honoured at the opening with attendance by the Danish Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen, who gave a very nice introduction, much appreciated, as well as Head of Cultural Affairs, Lene Balleby, Trine Lykke Tornøe, Helene A. Southern and the people from the Cultural Section of the Danish Embassy. The event was covered by the news section of the Danish Embassy's website.
Furthermore we had the privilege of being introduced by the Norwegian Ambassador Knut Vollebaek and Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs Pekka Voutilainen of the Finnish Embassy. Thanks also to Cultural Attaché Marianne Fosland and the people from the Cultural Dept. of the Norwegian Embassy for their support.

The George Sugarman Foundation

In December 2006 I was very thrilled to learn that I had been selected to receive an Artist Grant from The George Sugarman Foundation. The Foundation offers annual grants to artists who are engaged in creating new works of fine art.

George Sugarman (1012-1999), was a prolific, controversial, and forward-thinking American artist. His sculptures, drawings, and paintings defy a definitive style. As an innovator in pedestal-free sculpture and vividly painted metal sculptures, Sugarman was continually expanding on the metamorphosis of his prodigious creativity.

Limited Edition Print Launch

I am launching my very first series of high quality, signed Limited Edition Giclee Prints on the 3rd December.
The painting 'Unknown Territory', has been chosen for the series. The prints are 15 x 15 in. and printed on archive quality fine art paper. Exceptional care has been taken to produce the best likeness in colour and detail to match the original painting. Each piece is signed, numbered and comes with a card of authenticity.





















I sincerely want to thank my muse and great friend, Julie Bohannon for being a most exellent and patient model for 'Unknown Territory'.

The day of the launch happens to be her 27th Birthday, which is why we decided to make it an edition of 27.

The print is offered matted and framed (24.5 x 24.5 in.) for $370

Show in New York

One of my recent paintings 'Recognition' has been selected for First Juried Show at Prince Street Gallery in New York City.
The show is selected by Philip Pearlstein and will include 43 paintings. Philip Pearlstein is an internationally known contemporary realist painter based in New York.

Open Studio 2006 at Fort Mason

I will be doing my Open Studio event this year at the Gatehouse at Fort Mason Center alongside a number of other artists. The Gatehouse is that charming little house standing separately at the entrance to Fort Mason.
